Getting Started: Install the Desktop Softphone
Begin by downloading and installing the Desktop Softphone on your Windows device.
Desktop Softphone App Download
Start by accessing the download page to install the latest version of the app that’s compatible with your Windows system.
- Go to https://client.contactportal.app/
- Locate Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 (64-bit) and click Install.

- Click the Get the App button.

- Download Connect.Desktop.appinstaller
- Look for the Downloads icon in the top-right corner of your browser (usually a downward-facing arrow)
- Click the downloaded file shown in the dropdown
- When prompted, select your preferred install location
- Click Save to begin the installation process

- Check Launch when ready, then click Install.

- Click Enable to allow the app to run tasks at login.

Before You Sign In: Set Up Pre-Login Preferences
Before logging in to the Desktop Softphone, take a moment to configure your pre-login preferences. This ensures your app is optimized for your region, language, presence behavior, and device settings right from the start.
Left-Hand Menu Overview
When the softphone opens, you'll see a vertical menu on the left-hand side of the application:
- Menu Toggle (three lines):
- Located at the top of the panel, this button expands or minimizes the side menu to better fit your workspace.
- Login Button:
- Found just below the menu toggle, click this to proceed to the login screen and enter your credentials or use Single Sign-On.
- Settings Gear Icon:
- Also located in the menu panel, this opens your pre-login preferences. From here, you can configure region, language, startup behavior, presence control, and more.
